New Old Job, Old New Job

Ah how the wheels of life turn. So, just three months into my new job and I get a call from my manager at Jobster…offering me a position and wanting me to come back. So, after a week or two of Sonja and I giving it some serious consideration I accepted and will head back to Jobster on May 1. Hi ho, hi ho, back to Jobster I go. My resume is going to start looking like I copied and pasted one too many times: Tyrnstone > Jobster > Tyrnstone > Jobster.

I’m a little nervous because this is the company that laid me off (I mean, “dissolved my position”) just three months ago. But there are some good reasons to go back like great benefits (insurance and such), awesome team (Ops/IT) and a new/better position (Lead IT). Josh reminded me of one of the downsides of working for Jobster though - the commute. I do feel bad for leaving Tyrnstone again, but I will be able to wrap up (or mostly wrap up) the store installs project. I broke the news to my boss at Tyrnstone on Tuesday and while he seemed a little disappointed, he was pretty encouraging about it all. That was one call I was dreading to make (yes, I had to do it over the phone because I’m on the road so much and I wanted to give him as much notice as possible).

I just hope the company provided snacks in the Jobster kitchen are still as good as the were.

Sounds like it was a tough choice... I don't envy you having to decide. Good luck in the new job... Well, not new, but you know what I mean.

What a compliment to be asked back, Tycen! I can definitely understand your hesitation, though. It sounds like the guys at Tyrnstone are really understanding and that you aren't burning any bridges there. Commute? More time for Ramsey downloads...ha! Congrats!

Crazy! Congratulations, Tycen. I agree with Tracy that it is a major compliment to be asked back. There are still lots of great people over there, too, so I'm sure it will be fun. And even though the commute sucks, you still have a great view to look forward to!
