Our New Friend George

I'll make a long story short - tonight Sonja and I bought a George Foreman grill. Best investment ever (well, hopefully - it might be a little early to make that call). But, it certainly did produce some great steaks (thanks to a recommendation by Heidi at QFC). And Sonja made seasoned red potatoes that were amazing! Paired with some Henry Weinhard's root beer, bread and salad. Yum!

Tomorrow night we're thinking chicken.

UPDATE (10:00pm 3/20)
Chicken was very, very good. Tomorrow night we're going to get some Alaska Halibut we have in the freezer and try that!

Was it in the budget?

Ahhh...good question. It's funny, because in our class this week we made a commitment to not do any impulse buying and this was totally an impulse buy. Well...not really though, Sonja's been wanting one for a while now. But, we certainly didn't shop around, we went to the Bartell's next to the QFC and got one. See, in QFC a lady was grilling different meats on the GF grill and giving out samples - that's what got us. But, we have money in different envelopes that we are saving up for different things (like a couch) and we did have a conversation in Bartell's about where the money was coming from and how that would impact us. And at least it didn't go on a credit card! (which it might have 8 months ago) Justification...isn't it great!

Nice to meet you, George! I wish we had a personal chef named George to make us yummy steaks ;). Actually, we have a mini-George, but he mostly grills chicken to go on salads.

Alaskan Halibut? Hmmm.... You must have a pretty nice brother in Alaska to get you that...
